    Yeah. 5/5 inspiration is 60% FC. 4/5 is 48% and 3/5 is 36. 3/5 would take 44% FC in gear like you said. Think I could reach that at least for Enhancing magic and probably Ninjutsu. Definitely not the rest, which is why I stayed on 4/5 (which still brings me well above the cap anyway).
    It's not like I use Rayke that much (tbf it's not like I use RUN* lately >.>''') but it's a nice option to have I guess. To be honest I don't remember the last time I efficiently used Gambit/Rayke other than WKRs lol. They seemed to produce pretty big differences on Avatars' magic BP. Well Gambit for sure, Rayke was producing less noticeable results.

    And indeed would encourage such play
    This is an interesting perspective I didn't consider, true that.
    I'm all for stuff that encourage avoiding the masspam that RUN sometimes can become.

    Yeah I honestly just haven't looked up gearing for run yet (waiting to finish my ergon) so I figured 5/5 was still best. Gambit is pretty fun if you set up for it. Like with Yeager's group doing those 60k cloudsplitter skillchains it's clearly more than worth it lol. So it's greatness is really directly proportional to how good your group is and if you can make for good magic dmg... currently trying to see if I can use it to get 99999 on a non nm.

    Oh don't worry it will still be mass spam but it will be ws spam inbetween still keeping up runes and val and temper itself the very least lol. But still tis a dream I seriously doubt SE would do. Probably just give it something parry related.. which I suppose could be good Battuta is friggin boss.

    Rayke is -Meva while Gambit was either -MDB or +MDT... I'm not sure if anyone ever tested which it was. But either way, that would be why Rayke produces less results.
    As time goes on... with more and more shenanigans (like Marin Staff) added to the game, I find myself wanting to switch over to 5/5 inspiration instead of that 1/5 Rayke... but I'm paranoid that the moment I do is the moment SE adds some NM to the game where Rayke would matter................
    And... I just realized that Rayke is basically Stymie...
    How's this for RDM's gift Spell/JT/JA: "it makes Stymie not suck" ><;;

    RUN will always be "JA locked"... All of it's abilities are juuuuuust short enough to need to be reapplied a lot in long fights. (Runes and Valliance/Vallation are the big ones... though Runes partially from getting eaten by other JAs... But its enhancing magic, Phalanx/Ice Spikes/Foil/etc, have a fairly low durations too.)

    Rayke seems decentish. It's like RUN's version of Threnody. Wondering if it stacks with Ninjutsu's -resistance and enspell II's -resistance(none of those give a 'debuff' except threnody).

    Rayke is it's own status effect, so it more than likely stacks with anything else.

    After all the coalition maester quests are finished, we'll probably get Arciela's trust from some post final mission fight, like a Hades v2.

    Out of curiosity, I went and tried Rayke in ballista, but sadly the potency didn't show amongst the ele resistance in the equip menu. Which pretty much eliminates any chance of it eeeever getting quantified. Time to un-merit it.

    Would not be surprised if it is completely not functioning. Would go unnoticed for 3 years, like Lancer's Cuissots.

    I don't get what you mean with this, I'm dumb, explain to me in other terms!

    @Ophannus
    Rayke not working is out of the question. It does produce pretty noticeable damage differences, at least when I used it on WKRs. It affects both Lunge/Swipe and Avatars' magic BPs.
    It of course produces a smaller difference than Gambit, but it DOES produce a difference, whatever that difference really is and wether or not it stacks with En-spell tier 2 and ninjutsu.
    I also have no clue what Futhark Boots do to it.

    Either way, unmeriting doesn't sound the best. If anything because of lack of better options. Once you don't need the additional FC from Inspiration what else are you going to get, since battuta will of course stay at 5/5 and Sleigh of Words is pretty useless?

    It shouldn't increase damage outside of lowering the mob's magic evasion to the harbored runes' elements, like a Threnody, no? Depends how potent it is in upping damage or letting enfeebles stick. The problem I would think is, the Harbored runes you'd use against lightning based mob would be Tellus. Rayke would lower the target's resistance against earth, but being a lightning mob, shouldn't earth nukes/enfeebles already be easier to land anyway?

    You know those 8 colored balls in your equipment screen? Those show your elemental resistance and he's saying it didn't show up there.

    Exactly unless it does something other than what it says which I'm pretty sure is no

    Since there IS a difference in numbers, and since there is NO elemental difference in the screen during Ballista, then I think it's pretty clear that the effect it gives is something other than -elemental resistance, despite what the english description says.

    Well the equipment page could mean anything but seems odd for it to be another gambit unless bugged though when I used it I don't remember seeing a dmg difference on anything I'm certain I'd be getting super capped macc against. Guess I could play with it some tonight since I should have capped merits if you haven't before then. Wonder what the jp text says. Only thing I could think of why sometimes it might raise dmg and other times not is resistances isn't referring to magic hit rate resistance but to dmg type resistance. So maybe a sorta of tomahawk effect but only for elemental dmg of the runes you used

    That's correct, but you're not looking at it the way you need to be. It's in line more with Pflug usage. Against Wopket, you tailor your runes around resisting the element of the particular enfeeble before Pflug usage (this is completely separate from the runes you'd reapply for Vallation or Valiance afterward). You use 3x Igni then Pflug if you want to resist the Paralysis of Firefly Fandango, which is ice based. It doesn't matter that Wopket is earth based in this instance because you're interested in the enfeeble resistance element. Rayke runes are tailored against what element or enfeeble your party is having trouble landing. The point of using Rayke is to try and stick an enfeeble that the monster normally is resistant to, but it is still possible to land. This doesn't always coincide with the inherent element a monster has an affinity of. You could use Rayke for instance with three Sulpor runes to attempt to land stuns easier on a stun resistant (not immune) monster.

    TLDR; You tailor Rayke's runes around the nuke or enfeeble you want to land due to specific monster's innate enfeebling resistances and it is usually (though not always) independent of the monster's element. This is why it is a pain in the ass to use and is usually not worth the effort anyways due to the higher amount of Magic Acc. being put on mage gear and geomancy support.

    We need more than just anecdotal numbers, which is what your WKR experiences are, though, to know that there really is a difference in numbers.

    I'm not a RUN but I would imagine this could be dangerous. Also, I see it being a bit cumbersome in the heat of battle Raykeing an NM to land an important debuff(very few debuffs make an important impact on battle difficulty unless it's Distract or Silence in my opinion). But changing Runes so they can land para or slow seems kinda risky to me.

    What's the duration on Rayke? Been messing around in 138+ Incursion and stunning gets retarded under 50% HP without Bolster +MAcc and -MEva. Granted, I doubt it'd be worth bringing Run and increasing the bosses HP, but always good to know your options.
